The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in power within the city.

Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.

The Soldiers Table Introduced

The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of heroes who will split off from the central cast to begin their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.

What Defines the Combat Party

As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look unsuited, but the actions of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing started the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the secret base, striking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

The traitor then paid off his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, desires retribution.
  • Kattigan has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a hostile place.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their status as key figures in the powerful family could assist the team reach locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is marked for death by the family.

This means them no alternative but to head to the remote area in search of Casimir.

Future Episodes

Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Questers and Schemers tables.

Fans can expect discovering which characters will be in which group in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
